2013 Road Atlanta Airfence Fundraiser

Whether you race or just simply ride we all enjoy the thrill of putting a wheel on the track.

With that we all accept risks. Crashes are part of the sport and we all understand that sometimes there is nothing you can do to avoid it.

Airfence at Road Atlanta provided by NESBA

Soft barriers deployed at Road Atlanta. These modules were purchased with donations from the 2012 fundraiser.

Last year our fundraiser for Road Atlanta was wildly successful raising $20,000 in total. That money allowed us to purchase fourteen soft barriers for Road Atlanta to use at all motorcycle events. The Road Racing World Action Fund, a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization, publicly stated that this was the largest single contribution that the fund had received to date, and RRW recently published the group photo from the event in their annual Track Day edition.

We are planning an even bigger event for this summer that will be more fun, feature more items for bigger live and silent auctions, have a bigger raffle, more food, and last for three days. We'll have new T-Shirts to commemorate the event, and maybe even a couple of surprises as well as guest appearances by pro riders.

If you can only make one NESBA event this year, or only make one long road trip to a track event, then this one is the one you simply can't miss. The dates are July 5,6,7.

Our goal with this fundraiser is to eventually eliminate the need for hay bales at Road Atlanta. Our efforts last year put 140' of soft barriers in place. That is enough to take the place of over one hundred hay bales. In time maybe we can not only eliminate the remaining hay bales, but also have coverage on some areas that aren't critical but still pose a danger in an unusual circumstance.

I sincerely hope everyone who reads this will come out for this event, and please tell your friends, or better yet bring them with you. If you contribute money by check you can ensure it is tax deductible by simply making it out the RRW Action Fund.

I'm sure all who attended last year will attest to how much fun we had during this weekend. This year will be bigger and better in every way.

In an effort to make Road Atlanta as safe as possible we have put these events together to raise money for soft barrier and air fence deployment through the Road Racing World Air Fence Action Fund  http://actionfund.roadracingworld.com/
